How to Photograph Babies

 
 
 
1.  Shoot wide. 
Open that aperature.  Get that number as low as you can.
2.  Shoot in natural light and look for catchlights.
It really makes those colors pop and evens out skin tones.
3.  Get up close and personal.
Fill your frame with that beautiful face.  Or hands.  Or feet.

 
4.  Come together, right now.

When to Over-Expose Your Background

  
These flowers came from a rosebush on our property.  Amazingly, those four in front are all on the same stem – orange, pink, white, yellow-and-pink…  I love these flame roses.  They smell so delicate and fruity.
