Gather Ye Rosebuds
Our roses are blooming like mad, so I came up with a craft to let us enjoy the colors a little longer.
Step 1: Gather your petals. A variety of colors work nicely.
Step 2: Set out wax paper and newspaper. I tore off sheets of wax paper about 8×11 inches. Two pieces for each person.
Step 3: Plug in your iron at a very low setting and turn it on.
Step 4: Arrange the petals nicely on a sheet of wax paper, waxed side facing up.
Step 5: Cover with a sheet of wax paper, waxed side facing down.
Step 6: Place both sheets carefully between a few sheets of newspaper and cover it. Iron the newspaper until the wax melts and the wax paper sticks together.
Step 7: Seal the wax paper by ironing the wax paper itself (make sure you are ironing on the non-waxes side and using a very, very low setting) and pressing firmly.
Step 8: Let it cool, then cut out shapes. Hang by using a paper punch to make a hole and threading with ribbon or yarn. Hang in a window or from a light fixture and enjoy!
More great ideas tomorrow!
